Artist statement:

Surrendering to the Process

As a Clay Artist, my art has always been a vehicle to heal my angst in relation to my female form and the contrasting cultural images. Now as a Midlife Woman, it has become an exploration into the Concept of Process and the Temporary, as a reflection of life and time. “Surrendering to the Process” is centered on water’s interaction with the medium of clay, as a metaphor for time and my body. Created by wheel thrown cylinders and globes that were sculpted into form, this figurative work was a temporary conceptual installation which transformed over several days.
